CORE GAMEPLAY: ATTACK, DEFEND, AND SCORE
Retro Football requires you to balance your individual control skills with the tactical thinking of a head coach:
- Season Management: You will choose your favorite team to begin your journey through the challenging rounds of the season, aiming to compete for the prestigious championship trophy.
- Offense Tactics: When in possession of the ball, you need to make sound tactical decisions. Execute accurate passes, sprint, and weave through defenders to penetrate the opponent’s half.
- Defensive Tactics: When the opponent attacks, you have to concentrate intensely to read the situation, time your tackles accurately, or make interceptions to regain control of the ball.
Understand the Scoring System
Your ultimate goal is to score more points than your opponent. The game applies a very precise scoring system based on American football:
- Touchdown (6 Points): The highest score, achieved when a player successfully runs with the ball into the opponent's penalty area (end zone).
- Field Goal (3 Points): Take a free kick that goes between the goalposts when your team is unable to reach the Touchdown zone.
- Safety (2 Points): Special defensive point awarded when you tackle and stop an opposing player with the ball inside their own penalty area.
- Extra Point (1 Point): An additional free kick taken immediately after a team successfully scores a Touchdown.
